Turtles on the Beach

A Green Turtle came up on the beach yesterday evening. Laid 80 eggs right in front of the hotel. The police collected them and brought them to the wildlife refuge in Playa Hermosa to make sure no one stole the eggs.  It took her a little over an hour to dig the hole, lay the eggs and cover the nest and then returned to the sea. Here are a few pictures...

It was a gorgeous day today, the ocean was perfectly clear and warm, an off shore breeze and rain in the late afternoon. Couldn't ask for anything more. Sorry no pictures today though. The day was peaceful and uneventful, got a little garden work done. Loving the rain tonight, makes for sweet dreams. :)

Playa Jaco Costa Rica

Sunset at Hotel Catalina
Whether you are interested in surfing, zip lining through the canopy, hiking to see the local wildlife (monkeys, toucans, scarlet macaws among many other species) biking through town, or just relaxing by the pool, Jaco offers all this and so much more! And only being about an hour away from San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport; a little over an hour from Costa Rica's most visited National Park, Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio and a mere 20 minutes from Costa Rica's largest protected area Reserva Biológica Carara; makes Jaco a perfect homebase to see many of Costa Ricas natural wonders.

Enjoying the rainy season

So, I am not much of a blogger but am going to dive in and try to be more dedicated on posting here. I would love to have more followers! :)

Life here in Jaco has been very peaceful. Although we are in October usually one of our rainy months, it has been surprisingly summer like weather. Sunny, hot and the ocean a beautiful shade of blue. You can hear the scarlet macaws as they fly by on a daily basisand the hummingbirds buzzing in the garden. And the iguanas are just hanging out poolside. :)
Life is just Pura Vida! You should come enjoy a little piece of it! :)
